Greenwood Energy Announces Jonathan Cole as its Senior Counsel

Jonathan Cole to provide legal oversight for Greenwood Energy throughout the US and abroad

NEW YORK, NY: June 12th, 2013 – Greenwood Energy, the North American renewable energy division of the Libra Group, announced today that Jonathan Cole has joined the company as Senior Counsel.  Mr. Cole’s responsibilities include providing legal oversight, negotiating project contracts, structuring debt and tax equity financings, and structuring strategic transactions.

“Jonathan has a deep understanding of the legal aspects of energy and infrastructure project finance,” explained Camilo Patrignani, interim CEO of Greenwood Energy.  “Having executed transactions across the capital structure, he has extensive experience in a diverse array of financing structures as well as in-depth familiarity with the specific issues associated with the energy industry, making him a natural fit for the Senior Counsel role,” added Doug Johnsen, CFO of Greenwood Energy.

Prior to joining Greenwood Energy, Jonathan worked at Orrick, Herrington & Sutcliffe LLP where he was a Senior Associate in the Energy & Infrastructure Group. At Orrick, Mr. Cole completed in excess of $7 billion in transactions; which included over 1,000 MWs of constructed clean energy projects representing developers, utilities and financial entities.  Prior to joining Orrick, Herrington & Sutcliffe LLP, Jonathan was an Associate at Jones Day in the Corporate Finance Group.

Mr. Cole holds an A.B. in Mathematics from Vassar College and a J.D. from the New York University School of Law.  He was admitted to the New York Bar in 2001.
